Allergies & Asthma
Tillamook County Acupuncture for Allergies and Asthma

For many, Tillamook County can be a challenging place from a respiratory health perspective. The robust and diverse plant life found here means there is always something in bloom that produces allergy-inducing pollen.
As a result, people suffer from the typical array of allergy symptoms, such as a stuffy nose, itchy eyes, difficulty breathing, and a skin rash.
Asthma is a disease of the upper respiratory tract that is generally characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airway, making it hard to breathe and causing symptoms like cough, wheezing, and chest tightness.
The treatment and our approach:
While allergies and asthma are common conditions, they are not normal. Both are complex conditions rooted in dysregulation of the immune system. Successful treatment goes beyond mere symptom management. Our focus is on discovering and treating the reasons for this immune response.
We start by taking a detailed health history to determine at which point(s) the immune system may have become dysregulated. This involves asking detailed questions about all of the body’s systems, as areas like digestion, stress, and acute illnesses can all play a direct role in the onset of allergies and asthma.
Treatment is then directed at both the (root) cause and the (branch) symptoms, depending on whether symptoms are currently active or dormant. Herbal and acupuncture treatments, as well as diet recommendations, are tailored to meet our patients where they are in this cycle.
We take a comprehensive approach to treating these problems and have had great success in helping our patients live a more comfortable life in this beautiful part of Oregon.

Testimonials
“I first came to see Rob in the fall to prepare for my seasonal spring & summer allergies. Before coming to see him, I took daily OTC allergy pills and daily eye drops. After several sessions of acupuncture, my hayfever has dramatically decreased. I also take Chinese herbal medicine as needed and no longer suffer from itchy eyes, a runny nose, and fatigue. Thank you so much for your help, and I look forward to continuing my care at Cedar Grove Healing Arts!”

“Rob is not only a highly skilled healer but a deeply caring person. So much of the healing experience for me is being heard and understood in terms of my maladies. Rob is a great listener. He asks questions to confirm understanding.
Ultimately, his approach demonstrates an immediate improvement (by identifying areas of concern and finding pain or tightness, and then, AFTER inserting the needles, the pain/tightness is gone).
I had multiple life crises over the 3 years of working with Rob and he has such capacity to allow and encourage feelings. He is one of my most respected all time health practitioners and an all around superb human! I can highly recommend Cedar Grove Healing Arts.”

“I am a believer! I must admit, I began going to Cedar Grove Healing Arts at the request of my wife to treat symptoms of significant stress (lack of sleep, rash on hand, anxiety, etc). I was a bit skeptical but agreed to give it a try. I am now a believer! Rob is nothing short of amazing and I now consider his treatment an absolutely essential part of my overall health. Not only did it help significantly with my overall stress, but he was able to help identify the root source of my hand rash and clear it up where the dermatologist had failed over 6 months of treatment. I highly recommend to anyone considering acupuncture as a part of your overall health and wellness.”
